Presentation Flag Set — Confederation Base

Indoor

PRESCONF01

A Confederation base presentation set is what distinguishes a flag that has been properly installed from one that has been propped in a corner. The weighted cast iron or ornamental base, the hardwood staff, the gold spear or cross finial, and the bullion fringe along the flag edge — together these read as institutional, as intentional, as permanent.

These sets are the standard for government offices, municipal chambers, boardrooms, Legion halls, schools, and any ceremonial setting where the flag is part of the room rather than an afterthought. The base is heavy enough to stand without wall support. The staff height is chosen to suit standard ceiling heights with appropriate flag proportions.

Sets are available complete — base, staff, and finial together — or as individual components if you are replacing a specific piece or adding a second flag display to an existing installation. Provincial flags and Canadian flags in indoor ceremonial sizes are available separately.

Ideal for:

Government offices, municipal chambers, boardrooms, Legion halls, schools, churches, ceremonial events, and any indoor setting where flag display is a formal requirement rather than a decoration.

The minimum depth assumes compacted soil. The Building Code typically requires footings below the frost line — generally a minimum of 4 feet (48") below finished grade. Consult your local municipality if in doubt. The anchor cage shipped with the pole is designed for a 4'–6' minimum depth.

Installation Overview

Engineering drawings and full installation instructions ship with the pole. This is a summary for planning purposes.

01

Dig and Pour

Auger or excavate a 26" diameter hole to 44" minimum depth. Bed in gravel, set anchor cage, pour 3,000 PSI concrete. Allow 7 days full cure (or 1 day with quick-set).

03

Walk the pole up

Assemble pole horizontal. Attach hinge pin to base. Two or three people walk the pole up to vertical from the hinge side. Secure the two non-hinge bolts.

02

Level the base

Once cured, thread leveling nuts onto anchor bolts. Place the hinge base plate over the cage, shim level in both directions, and secure with washers and large nuts.

04

Rig and Install

Verify halyard through cam cleat, attach counterweight and snaps, thread the ball finial, install flash collar. Apply silicone bead at collar top. Raise your flag.
