PARADESTF01

Parade staffs are built to be carried, which means different construction than a display pole. They are lighter, they balance differently, and they are sized to work with a parade belt or shoulder holster rather than a floor stand. The hardware at the top is designed to keep a flag properly presented while moving rather than hanging it at rest.

These are the staffs for colour guards, cadet corps, Legion parades, municipal ceremonies, and school events. The right holster depends on the carry style — belt carry, shoulder carry, or vehicle mount — and we carry the full range of carriers to match.

Standard parade staff lengths are sized to the bearer and the flag. If you are outfitting a full colour guard with matched equipment, or replacing a single staff in an existing set, let us know the flag size and intended use and we will confirm the right combination.

Ideal for:

Colour guards, cadet corps, Legion parade units, municipal ceremonies, school events, and any organized group requiring matched carry equipment.

The minimum depth assumes compacted soil. The Building Code typically requires footings below the frost line — generally a minimum of 4 feet (48") below finished grade. Consult your local municipality if in doubt. The anchor cage shipped with the pole is designed for a 4'–6' minimum depth.

Installation Overview

Engineering drawings and full installation instructions ship with the pole. This is a summary for planning purposes.

01

Dig and Pour

Auger or excavate a 26" diameter hole to 44" minimum depth. Bed in gravel, set anchor cage, pour 3,000 PSI concrete. Allow 7 days full cure (or 1 day with quick-set).

03

Walk the pole up

Assemble pole horizontal. Attach hinge pin to base. Two or three people walk the pole up to vertical from the hinge side. Secure the two non-hinge bolts.

02

Level the base

Once cured, thread leveling nuts onto anchor bolts. Place the hinge base plate over the cage, shim level in both directions, and secure with washers and large nuts.

04

Rig and Install

Verify halyard through cam cleat, attach counterweight and snaps, thread the ball finial, install flash collar. Apply silicone bead at collar top. Raise your flag.
