8-Foot Aluminum Flagpole with Bracket

Residential

FPA019NF

The 8-foot aluminum pole with bracket is the most common choice for a first permanent residential flagpole. It is not a wall-mount — it goes in the ground with a small concrete footing — but the installation is simple enough that most homeowners handle it themselves on a Saturday morning. Once it is in, it is in for good.

The acorn top is the traditional residential finial — clean, classic, proportional to a single-storey home. The external halyard and cleat are the standard mechanism for a residential pole: run the flag up, tie it off, done. No lock, no internal system, no complexity.

Available as the pole only, or paired with a 36x72 Canadian flag. The gold anodized versions — FPA013GP and FPA013GD — step up the finish quality for buyers who want something that reads as more intentional. All versions use the same bracket and ground sleeve installation.

Ideal for:

Homeowners installing their first permanent flagpole, cottage properties, front yard installations, and anyone upgrading from a wall-mount to an in-ground pole.

The minimum depth assumes compacted soil. The Building Code typically requires footings below the frost line — generally a minimum of 4 feet (48") below finished grade. Consult your local municipality if in doubt. The anchor cage shipped with the pole is designed for a 4'–6' minimum depth.

Installation Overview

Engineering drawings and full installation instructions ship with the pole. This is a summary for planning purposes.

01

Dig and Pour

Auger or excavate a 26" diameter hole to 44" minimum depth. Bed in gravel, set anchor cage, pour 3,000 PSI concrete. Allow 7 days full cure (or 1 day with quick-set).

03

Walk the pole up

Assemble pole horizontal. Attach hinge pin to base. Two or three people walk the pole up to vertical from the hinge side. Secure the two non-hinge bolts.

02

Level the base

Once cured, thread leveling nuts onto anchor bolts. Place the hinge base plate over the cage, shim level in both directions, and secure with washers and large nuts.

04

Rig and Install

Verify halyard through cam cleat, attach counterweight and snaps, thread the ball finial, install flash collar. Apply silicone bead at collar top. Raise your flag.
