24-Foot Aluminum Flagpole

In-Ground

FPA024AA

The 24-foot aluminum sits at the top of the in-ground light commercial range. It uses an external halyard on a cleat — a standard system that is simple to operate and straightforward to maintain — and installs with a proper concrete footing rather than a residential ground sleeve. The result is a pole that looks and performs at a commercial level without requiring a full commercial foundation.

The base version (FPA024AA) is a plain tapered aluminum shaft. The truck version (FPA024TA) adds a rotating truck at the top to prevent flag wrap-around — the right choice for any site where the pole will be flying a flag continuously. Both are available in straight and sectional variants (FPA024AS, FPA024TS) for easier transport and installation.

The 24-foot roto-arm kit (FPK024SK) is also available — this version extends a flag horizontally from the shaft via an outrigger arm, which is the right choice for buildings where a vertical top-mount is not appropriate or where the flag needs to project over a walkway or entrance.

Ideal for:

Small commercial businesses, community halls, sports clubs, churches, and properties wanting a true commercial-look pole without stepping into the full commercial aluminum lineup.

Foundation Requirements

Foundation Diameter:

12 inches

Foundation Depth:

48 inches minimum

Concrete Spec:

Anchor Bolts:

13 cubic feet minimum

N/A — direct burial or ground sleeve

The minimum depth assumes compacted soil. The Building Code typically requires footings below the frost line — generally a minimum of 4 feet (48") below finished grade. Consult your local municipality if in doubt. The anchor cage shipped with the pole is designed for a 4'–6' minimum depth.

Installation Overview

Engineering drawings and full installation instructions ship with the pole. This is a summary for planning purposes.

01

Dig and Pour

Auger or excavate a 26" diameter hole to 44" minimum depth. Bed in gravel, set anchor cage, pour 3,000 PSI concrete. Allow 7 days full cure (or 1 day with quick-set).

03

Walk the pole up

Assemble pole horizontal. Attach hinge pin to base. Two or three people walk the pole up to vertical from the hinge side. Secure the two non-hinge bolts.

02

Level the base

Once cured, thread leveling nuts onto anchor bolts. Place the hinge base plate over the cage, shim level in both directions, and secure with washers and large nuts.

04

Rig and Install

Verify halyard through cam cleat, attach counterweight and snaps, thread the ball finial, install flash collar. Apply silicone bead at collar top. Raise your flag.
